A warm welcome to all for the 2021 school year.
A warm welcome to all for the 2021 school year. A special welcome to all our new students and families especially the Year 7 and 11 students.
2021 is a special year for the school as it celebrates its Centenary. The school has provided 100 years of education to the town of Northam and surrounding districts. There is so much to celebrate and we hope you join in on the various events that are planned for this year, especially the Centenary Celebration on Saturday 15 May 2021.
Before I talk about the start of this year, I would like to acknowledge the results of the 2020 Year 12 students. The median ATAR for this group of students, who had a year interrupted by COVID 19, was 65.65. This figure indicates an upward trend in our median ATAR scores from 53.7 in 2018 and 63.65 in 2019, an increase of 12 points in 2 years. WACE achievement has also increased to 80%.
The school is on an improvement journey and these results indicate we are making positive moves forward. I thank the students and teachers for the work they do and to parents/carers for the support of their children and the school.
The 2021 school year commences on Monday 1 February at 8.50am.
We have sent information to advise where students will meet on Monday. Each year group will have a designated area of the school in which to assemble with their Year Coordinator and their Period 1 teacher.
We have also updated you on school uniform delays for Year 7 students. However, please ensure that all other children attending school (Year 8 – 12) are dressed in full school uniform and have the required equipment for their school needs.
Uniforms can be purchased from Cadds Fashion Sportfirst store on Fitzgerald St in Northam.
You will have received a booklist at the end of last year. If you are unsure of what items are required and where to purchase them, please call the school on 9621 0000 for further information.
We are looking forward to a positive start to the school year and for many successes during this year.
We look forward to working in partnership with parents/carers to be able to achieve success for all our students.
